Campaigning for LS polls picks up in Khammam

Khammam: The district TRS leaders have increased the speed as the Lok Sabha election are coming nearer. As part of the election campaign, the old and new leaders held a preparatory meeting here on Saturday.

Former Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao, MP candidate Nama Nageshwar Rao, Local MLA Puvvada Ajay Kumar, TRS Khammam Parliament in-charge Nukala Naresh Reddy and other senior leaders and cadre attended the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, TRS Khammam Parliament in-charge Naresh Reddy said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Reddy gave a good thought before giving the MP ticket to Nama Nageswara Rao, who has good political connection with Khammam district. Naresh Reddy called for party cadre to flip the flag on Khammam Fort in the coming Lok Sabha elections.

Khammam MLA Puvvada Ajay Kumar said various surveys stated that 70 per cent of the district people will vote for the TRS.

He urged the people of Khammam parliamentary constituency to help Nama to win with a huge majority.

Nama Nageswara Rao said that he was attracted to KCR's ideology. Telangana State has been in number one position in all fields for the last five years. He felt that there is a need for the leadership change at the centre also. Many States were following Telangana policies.

24-hour electricity and welfare schemes for farmers and others were proved beneficial to the people across the State. Nama urged the blessings of the district people for his victory and expressed hope that the TRS would win 16 seats in the Lok Sabha elections.

This showed once again that politics has no permanent enemies and no permanent friends. Thummala and Nama, former bitter enemies, had to speak on the same platform. The old enemies are now friends. For the Khammam Assembly seat, Nama Nageswar Rao contested from TDP and Puvvada Ajay was in the fray and won from TRS. And now they are working for the same party.
