Call to ensure MPTC, ZPTC polls peaceful
District Revenue Officer Motilal urged the officials concerned to conduct the ensuing MPTC and ZPTC elections peacefully.
Vikarabad: District Revenue Officer Motilal urged the officials concerned to conduct the ensuing MPTC and ZPTC elections peacefully. While addressing a training programme for MCC, FST, SST and AEO teams here on Tuesday in view of the elections, the DRO informed that stringent measures would be initiated against violators of model code of conduct.
Motilal said that candidates would not be allowed to use prayer halls as platforms to give speeches. The candidates should not ask for votes on the basis of religion, caste, sex and others, he added.
DRDO officer Johnson advised officials to ensure that no candidate uses loud speakers, hold public meetings and rallies without obtaining permission from the officials concerned. He informed that loud speakers at public meetings and road-shows would be allowed from 6 am to 10 pm if they obtain permission.
Elections Assistant Expenditure Observer Harikishan said that candidates should spend the poll expenditure as fixed by State Elections Commission and added that they were not allowed to spend more than the prescribed amount.
He informed that the candidates should enter their daily expenditure in a shadow register and submit the register to MPDO within 45 days of announcing results. Harikishan said that action would be initiated against candidates if they found violating the model code of conduct (MCC). Elections cell coordinator M Sattaiah and others were present on the occasion.
