BJP blames cops of high-handedness in Hanamkonda

Hanamkonda: The TRS government is trying to suppress the voice of Opposition parties, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State general secretary G Premender Reddy said. Speaking to media persons here on Tuesday, he found fault with the police for being overenthusiastic in dispersing the BJP cadres, who were staging a demonstration peacefully at the Ambedkar Circle on Monday, in protest against the incident in which a nine-month-old baby was molested and killed a few days ago.

It may be recalled here that five BJP workers including Urban district president Rao Padma Reddy, OBC leader Bingi Srinivas, Sarojana and two others sustained burns on Monday when they along with others set the effigy of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on fire, demanding speedy justice to the parents of the victim.

"The democratic forces should come forward and condemn the TRS government, which is intolerant towards the Opposition. Besides providing justice to the victim's parents, the government should also own the responsibility for the Monday's incident," Reddy said.

Although the BJP leadership is in the forefront of assisting Bingi Srinivas, who sustained severe burns and being treated at Hyderabad, the government should also come forward to provide compensation to him, he demanded.

Senior leader Chintha Samba Murthy blamed the government for showing highhandedness on BJP cadres who were demonstrating in a peaceful manner condemning the gruesome incident.

Equating KCR governance with that of Nizam's, he said that such an autocratic rule would end soon.
