Bhupalpally Collector Vasam Venkateshwarlu accepts green challenge
District Collector Vasam Venkateshwarlu planting a sapling on the premises of his camp office in Bhupalpally on Wednesday
Bhupalpally: Jayashankar Bhupalpally District Collector Vasam Venkateshwarlu planted six saplings on the premises of his camp office on Wednesday, accepting a 'Green India Challenge' thrown by Sangareddy District Collector Hanumantha Rao.
He planted Kadamba, Guava, Jack Fruit, Amla, Wood Apple, and Mud Apple saplings, said to be auspicious in Kartheeka Masam.
Later, he invited Mahbubnagar District Collector Ronald Rose, Bhupalpally MLA Gandra Venkataramana Reddy and actor Shiva Reddy to take up the green challenge.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that protection of environment is social responsibility; hence, people should come forward to participate in the Haritha Haram programme, aimed at ensuring greenery in the State.
