Hyderabad: The leaders of 14 various BC associations met here at BC Bhavan on Friday and demanded various political parties, including the TRS, to allocate 50% of MPP and ZPTC seats to BCs. BC associations also decided to field at least 200 candidates in the forthcoming Huzurnagar MLA constituency by-election in protest against the state government's decision to decrease BC quota in the local body elections.
They alleged that the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has deliberately reduced BC reservation from 22% earlier to 18% in the local body elections on the pretext of the Supreme Court ruling in this regard. The BC leaders warned that those parties that do not fulfill their demand would be branded as anti-BC parties.
BC leaders also condemned the alleged brutal killing of BJP party worker Prem Kumar by TRS leader Ramakrishna Reddy and his followers. They demanded stringent action against culprits. If the TRS government fails to take action and prevent such attacks against BCs, then the BCs will be forced to respond, they warned.
BC Welfare Association national president R Krishnaiah, president Erram Sathyanarayana, national vice president Gujja Krishna, state BC youth welfare association president Neela Venkatesh, state BC sangharshana Samithi president K Narsimha Goud, state BC students welfare association president Jillapalli Anji, state BC front president Mallesh Yadav, state BC sena president Barka Krishna, state BC association president TR Chander, state BC employees association president Upender Goud, state BC rights protection committee president Rajender, state BC praja Samithi president Madhusudhan, state BC jana Samithi president S Venkanna and state BC castes united front president Nataraj participated in the meeting.
