Automobile financier claim to have paid Rs 1crore to kidnappers
An automobile dealer-cum financier, Gajendra Prasad (40) on Monday alleged that he was kidnapped by unidentified persons from Chikkadpally on Sunday and released him at 4.20 am at Jagdish Market on Monday after collecting Rs 1 crore ransom.

According to Central Zone DCP P Viswa Prasad, the victim has a finance company at Domalguda. He had gone to meet his friend at AV college on Sunday morning.
As he was about reverse his car, two motorcycle-borne assailants stopped the vehicle. Three more persons, who wore masks, came in a car and kidnapped him.
He alleged that the assailants had beaten him up. The kidnappers had blindfolded him and confined him in a building after travelling for about 15 km, he told the police.
The assailants, he alleged, had demanded Rs 3 crore ransom by saying that they had got a contract for Rs 2 crore to kill the financier. He bargained with the kidnappers to accept Rs 50 lakh ransom.
Ultimately, they assailants had agreed to leave him if Rs 1 crore ransom was paid. Prasad claimed that he had called his friend Rahul to arrange the ransom.
The kidnappers had collected the Rs 1 crore ransom at Chirag Ali lane under Abids police station limits and released him at Little Flower school lane near Jagdish Market, he said. Prasad was admitted to a private hospital as he suffered serious injuries in the hands of the alleged kidnappers.
His elder brother Kamlesh expressed shock over the incident. He alleged some assailants had hatched a conspiracy to extrort money from his brother.
The police formed seven team and launched manhunt for the assailants. The police said they had learnt of some financial disputes between Prasad and some persons in Mumbai.
The police said the victim was not forthcoming with the information like details of the car used to kidnap him and the mobile number of the assailants.
By registering kidnap, ransom and dacoity cases against the culprits', police took up the investigation. They formed 7 teams to nab the kidnappers. The police further said the version of Prasad lacked cogency.
The police are examining the CCTV footage for clues and investigating the case from all angles.
