Amit Shah dismisses Telangana charges of Centre not releasing SDRF

Hyderabad: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the Centre had given about Rs 500 crore to Telangana through State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF).
Addressing the media here on Sunday, he dismissed the statements that the Centre had not provided any assistance to the State during the recent floods. He said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who was not going to Secretariat for a long time, might not be aware of it and asked him to check for the same.
Reiterating the support extended to the State by the Centre, he said State was given All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and even completed its construction. But, KCR who had promised to establish four super-specialty hospitals has failed to deliver on his promise.
He asked the Chief Minister as to why has he deprived the benefits of Ayushman Bharat to the poor people in Telangana. Amit Shah stated the Centre had supported the metro rail project in the city, establishment of four training centres, Hyderabad- Bengaluru, Hyderabad-Vijayawada roads, Amurt scheme, the initiative for the credit rating of GHMC among the others.
Adding that the Telangana was the only State and Hyderabad was the only big city that were benefitted in a big way from the Prime Minister Street Vender Yojana, the Union Minister said services to the people have been improved with the establishment of technology-driven passport office in Hyderabad. Further, the FDI inflows into the country have shown record performance and the investments were more in the IT sector benefitting the Hyderabad city. Under several Central schemes like Make in India, big companies have been investing in the State, he informed.
Amit Shah sought to know from the TRS about the 100-day plan of 2016 to improve civic amenities in Hyderabad. He questioned the promise of the government to come with a citizen charter and asked when KCR government would deliver on 1.15 lakh double bedroom houses. "Why he did not deliver the same even after five years, for which, even the Centre had provided funds?" Amit Shah questioned. He also sought to know about the TRS promise of developing a six-lane road along river Musi, 15 dump yards, cleaning of Hussain Sagar etc.
