AI adds to economic strength of nation: Karuna Gopal
Karuna Gopal, president of the Foundation for Futuristic Cities and BJP leader, on Saturday said building Artificial Intelligence (AI) was seen by countries as national competitiveness and economic strength.
Hyderabad: Karuna Gopal, president of the Foundation for Futuristic Cities and BJP leader, on Saturday said building Artificial Intelligence (AI) was seen by countries as national competitiveness and economic strength.
Speaking as a chief guest at the launch of "Applied AI" course at Zettamine Labs here, a joint initiative of Zettamine Technologies, National Institute of Technology, Warangal and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, she said the British government estimated that AI could add $814 billion to the UK economy by 2035.
In the last two years alone, several countries and regions have announced their AI strategic plans. These were very relevant to their countries and their realities. Focus areas of AI for different nations depends on their priorities and their economic models, she said.
She highlighted that the government has initiated a proof of concept pilot in 15 districts in India to use artificial intelligence based on real-time advisory based on satellite imagery, weather data, etc. to increase farm yields where the farm production levels are low.
India initiated a long-term project to build a complete natural language processing platform for Indian languages, Gopal added.
Dr Somayajulu, Director IIIT Kurnool, Dr Ravindranath, Professor, JNTU Kakinada, and Surya Putchala, CEO Zettamine were present.
