3-tier bandobust in place at counting centres
Proceedings under section 144 CrPC will be promulgated within 100 meters of the counting centres on the day of counting and violators will be prosecuted
♦ Forces deployed for strong rooms along with Law and Order and Armed reserve component are also deployed for counting day in all districts and Commissionerates
♦ The main objective of counting day bandobust is to ensure peaceful counting and peaceful atmosphere in the State after counting is completed

Hyderabad: The State police made all necessary arrangements for counting of votes on May 23 to pass off peacefully and in a hassle-free manner.
After peaceful conduct of elections, the EVMs and VVPATs were stored in 123 Strong Rooms at 37 locations falling in 16 Police Units.
According to Jitender, Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order, three-tier Bandobust was arranged for safeguarding strong rooms comprising of inner Cordon, Middle cordon and Outer cordon as per the guidelines of Election Commission.
They were guarded by the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) along with CCTV surveillance round the clock with command control centers set up for each location.
Armed Reserve and local District Police force are being utilised for perimeter patrolling and watch duty to prevent unauthorised access of anti-social elements at the strong rooms.
Addl. DGP said the forces deployed for strong rooms along with Law and Order and Armed reserve component is deployed for counting day in all districts and Commissionerates.
The main objective of counting day bandobust is to ensure peaceful counting and peaceful atmosphere in the State after counting is completed. Available forces with State are re-aligned to be part of counting day bandobust.

He also warned that, access to people will be restricted in counting centre and only people authorised by Returning Officer will be permitted inside with a valid pass and no one is permitted to carry mobiles inside counting centres.

Separate place for media centre has been created. Addl. DGP also said that there will be no victory processions permitted without specific permission from competent authority.
