Hyderabad: Former MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Thursday attended the Nampally Court in correspondence to case filed against her and three others during the by-elections in Nizamabad during 2010.

Kavitha along with her advocates came to the Nampally Court and there were several TRS leaders and workers in the court premises. The police had tough time to control the TRS activists, who were trying to enter the court hall.

The 2010 by-polls in Nizamabad Urban witnessed a sequence of events wherein throngs of crowd agitated for grant of statehood to Telangana region.

The then MLA of Nizamabad Urban, Yendala Laxminarayana resigned to his post and by-election was held where he was pitted against Congress party's D Srinivas. Kavitha was supporting the candidature of Laxminarayana in the by-poll.

The dharna happened at SP office in Nizamabad city wherein cases were filed on the protesting Kalvakuntla Kavitha and others. The cases were filed under section 341 and section 188 IPC for violating rules that there should be no dharna during the period of election code. In this connection, the Nampally Court issued summons to Kavitha. The case was heard by special sessions judge.

Kavitha attended the court and the Judge ordered Kavitha to submit a personal bond of Rs 10,000 and reappear on March 19.
