Warangal: The CCS Police on Friday arrested two of the five-member interstate thieves' gang and seized gold jewellery worth around Rs 4 lakh from them. The accused were identified as Mahavir Bagriya and Mukesh Chouhan of Bilwara district in Rajasthan. The other three members – Kalu, Nandulal and Suresh - who are at large are also hail from Rajasthan.

The ACP (Crime) Babu Rao said that Mahavir, who in his past ran a flower business, formed a gang with the others, who were also involved in the same trade. In a bid to make a quick buck, the gang wanted to resort to thefts. The gang broke into a locked house at Madikonda and decamped with valuables. They also made away with gold jewellery from a locked house in Subedari police station limits.

Against this backdrop, the police formed special team to nab the gang. With the help of CCTV footage available in theft scenes, the police identified the accused when they were moving suspiciously. The Commissioner of Police V Ravinder commended ACP Babu Rao, CCS inspector David Raj, assistant analytical officer Salman Pasha and Subedari SI Mahender for nabbing the gang.
