2 Hyd students bag national third rank

Hyderabad: Several students from CBSE schools in GHMC limits bagged top honours in Class X results released on Monday.

Although students from Central government-funded Kendriya Vidyalayas and Army Public Schools achieved excellent results, the state toppers, however, belonged to leading private CBSE schools in the state capital.

Two students (Ankit Saha and Maddala Harshini) secured the first rank in the state with 497 marks out of 500 (99.4 per cent). While Ankit is a student of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Public School (BHEL), Harshini is a student of Meridian School, Banjara Hills.

Ankit wants to get into IITs in the future and pursue Computer Engineering. Harshini stated that consistency, perseverance and will to win made her bag top rank in the exam.

Two students-Shambavi Khulbey (BVB Public Schools-Jubilee Hills) and Shreya Repala (DPS-Nacharam) stood as joint toppers (second rank) with an aggregate of 496 marks (99. 2 per cent).

Meanwhile, three students-Jonnalagadda Ananta Sai Sarvani (Amritha Vidyalayam-Mahindra Hills), Shubha Tanya (Delhi School of Excellence-Attapur) and Gudepu Rajeswari Ananya (Silver Oaks High School, Bachupally) stood in the third position with the same number of marks (495), an aggregate of 99 per cent.

Army Public Schools in Golconda and Bolarum achieved 100 per cent results. From APS Golconda-Anmol Kurothe was the school topper with 98.2%. He scored 100% marks in Maths and Social studies.

Shifa Walia stood second with an aggregate 97.4%. She scored 100% in Mathematics. Nitya Ravindra Kuber stood third with an aggregate of 96.6% and scored 100% in Social Studies. 29 students scored above 90%. 78% of the students got the distinction.

A total of 231 students appeared for the examination from the Army Public School, Bolarum, of them, 78 students scored above 90%. 20 students scored above 95%.

Arjun Dharwal topped the school with 96.6 per cent marks followed by Mahek Gupta with 96.4 per cent.

Three students managed to score a cent per cent in individual subjects - Ryan Solanki in Mathematics and Angelica Ajeesh and Yashwini Sharma in English.

DPS Nacharam got 100 per cent pass results bagging the fourth highest position at the national level.

Out of the total 499 students that appeared from this school, 195 students have scored 90 pass percentage, including 77 students who got 95 per cent and above aggregate. Also, 16 students with Special Needs also scored 70 per cent and above marks.

Meridian School, Banjara Hills, bagged not only cent per cent pass results in CBSE Class X exams for 20 years in succession, but also cent per cent First Class this year.

Out of 147 students who appeared for the exam from this school, 128 secured distinction while 54 students securing above 90 per cent.

P Obul Reddy Public School, Jubilee Hills also got cent per cent results. A total of 201 students appeared for the exams out of which 78 per cent secured distinction, nearly 36 per cent of them getting 90 pass percentage.

Glendale Academy secured cent per cent pass results. All students got a first class with 90 per cent securing distinction. School topper was Sharanya Soma (97.6 per cent), while second and third positions went to Saniya Shaheen Shaik (97) and Soumil Ray (96.6).

The students of Jubilee Hills Public School secured 100% pass results in CBSE class X. Out of the total strength of 216 students who appeared for the exam, 86% of students secured distinction and 14% of students secured the first class.

A total of 17,61,078 students appeared for the exams all over the country, out of which 16,04,428 have passed resulting in a pass percentage of 91.10. This was more than four per cent pass percentage seen in 2018, which was 86.70 per cent.

The Chennai region under which Telangana state comes secured 99 pass percentage while the Trivandrum region got the highest pass percentage of 99.85. Girls have done better than boys this year.

While girls registered a pass percentage of 92.45, boys got 90.14.
