140 doctors from TVVP, DPH absorbed into DME

Nearly 140 doctors from Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad and Directorate of Public Health and Family Welfare were absorbed as Assistant Professors in Directorate of Medical Education of the Health Department on Monday.
Hyderabad: Nearly 140 doctors from Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad and Directorate of Public Health and Family Welfare were absorbed as Assistant Professors in Directorate of Medical Education of the Health Department on Monday.
These doctors are presently working in various Area and District Hospitals, Community Health Centres as well as Primary Health Centres in various districts. In wake of their absorption to DME side, these doctors would be posted as Assistant Professors in various Government Medical Colleges and teaching hospitals in the State.
As per rules, Assistant Professors in DME side are filled by regular recruitment and by absorption from other health wings TVVP and DPH & FW. The only prerequisite is that these in-service doctors should have completed the PG for them to be absorbed as teaching faculty.
Counselling for the same was held at Directorate of Medical Education in Koti on Monday after which the first list of 140 doctors was finalised. The counselling process would continue on Tuesday after which the final figure of doctors absorbed to DME side would be known.
