Google has officially introduced its latest flagship artificial intelligence model, Gemini 4 Argon, with the company positioning it as a system built for handling complex, multi-step tasks across several professional fields.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced the global availability of the new model in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter. He said Gemini 4 Argon is now accessible to developers and enterprises through the paid tier of the Gemini API and Gemini platform.
“Gemini 4 Argon is here. It’s available globally today for developers and enterprises in the paid tier of the Gemini API and the Gemini platform, for Ultra subscribers in Google Antigravity, and Ultra and Pro subscribers in the Gemini app and Search. Hope you all enjoy it!,” Pichai wrote in the post.
Elon Musk, who owns X, responded to Pichai’s announcement by congratulating the Google CEO on the launch. “Congrats!,” Musk said.
Musk also used the post to highlight what he sees as the advantage of company leaders communicating directly with audiences on X. According to him, CEOs and executives can reach the public more quickly through the platform while also helping generate interest in their products.
“CEOs & execs posting to the public directly on 𝕏 is the best way to get your message out and drive product sales,” Elon Musk said adding “Vastly more powerful and effective than a press release”.
Google targets complex AI workloads
Google rolled out Gemini 4 Argon on October 13, describing it as an AI model aimed at demanding workloads involving software engineering, robotics, scientific research and enterprise operations.
The model is being made available globally to developers and businesses through the Gemini API. Google AI subscribers can also access it through Google Antigravity, the standalone Gemini app and AI Mode in Google Search.
Google said Gemini 4 Argon has been developed with precision-focused applications in mind, including coding, finance, legal research and cybersecurity. The company also claims that the model ranks first on the Vals Index, an evaluation framework that measures AI performance across areas such as taxation, legal work and software development.
For developers, Google has introduced Gemini 4 Argon at a promotional price of $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens. Cached input tokens are being offered at a 95 per cent discount under the introductory pricing, which remains valid until November 30, 2026.
After the promotional period ends, Google plans to charge $4 per million input tokens and $20 per million output tokens.
