Don't Miss These New Google's Digital Wellbeing Apps
Google has introduced six experimental digital wellbeing apps for Android users to reduce smartphone usage.
Last year Google introduced 'Digital Wellbeing' with Android 9 Pie. Google has initiated a move to help users improve their health and also take a digital break from their addiction to smartphones. Recently it launched six new Digital Wellbeing apps which are part of 'Experiments with Google'. Google says these experiments main idea is to encourage developers and designers to build digital wellbeing tools in their products and services.
To begin with, Google has introduced six experimental digital wellbeing apps for Android users – Desert Island, Morph, Paper Phone, Post Box, and Unlock Clock. One can get all these new digital wellbeing apps from the Google Play Store.
Desert Island
Desert Island allows users to choose only the necessary apps. Once the user selects the most used apps, Desert Island will let the user know how many times he/she has used these apps when compared to others. The basic idea of the Desert Island app is to make the users "find focus by going a day with only your essential apps". You can download Desert Island here. Link the text here to
Morph
Morph app enables users to plan and divide their day by arranging apps based on their usage. Work apps go under the work folder and similarly travel apps go under the travel folder. Doing so will make your phone automatically adapt and give you the apps based on the time or place. You can download Morph here. Link the text here to
Paper Phone
'Paper Phone' is a paper phone. It is the most popular and genuinely experimental of the well-being apps list. This app allows you to print out a paper phone with only the essential details you need. Once all the details are selected, you can print it out, fold it and use it as a paper phone. It enables you to decide what to include in the booklet, including contacts, maps, calendar information, and more. You can also create paper apps for recipes, phrasebooks, and notepads. You can download the Paper Phone here. Link the text here to
Post Box
Post Box, as the name suggests, it is a typical Post Box. It helps you to collect notifications at one place and send at a scheduled time for you to minimise your distractions. On Post Box, you can schedule a specific time when you wish to receive notifications. Once the 'delivery time' arrives, you'll find all your unread notifications carefully categorised. Post Box can be downloaded here. Link the text here to
Unlock Clock
Unlock Clock is an exciting app to find out how frequently you unlock your phone. Unlock Clock wallpaper will keep a count and display the number of times you unlock your phone per day. Once you download the Unlock Clock app, you will find this wallpaper from your Live Wallpaper library. You can download Unlock Clock here. Link the text here to
We Flip
We Flip is another exciting experiment for groups. We Flip aims to encourage community digital wellbeing. Once all your group members are ready, you'll pull down to flip together and keep your phones aside, allowing users to stay away from technology. When the flip session is over it will show how each of you fared and which member took a peek into their phones. You can download We Flip here: Link the text here to
