Airtel Xstream AirFiber: How to get the plan, speed and connectivity details
Airtel launches Xstream AirFiber, a 5G wireless Wi-Fi solution that offers high-speed Internet access with connectivity for up to 64 devices.
Airtel offers a variety of prepaid and postpaid services in mobile, broadband and other wireless network services. Expanding its offerings, the telecom operator announced on Monday the launch of its fixed wireless service: Airtel Xstream AirFiber. With this new device for Internet availability, Airtel aims to enhance consumers' Internet connectivity experience and eliminate the need for traditional wired connections, offering convenience and flexibility to users.
The Xstream AirFiber is a plug-and-play device with built-in Wi-Fi 6 technology, providing extensive indoor coverage and the ability to connect up to 64 devices simultaneously. The telecom operator claims that Airtel Xstream AirFiber is the country's first 5G wireless Wi-Fi solution, offering Internet access to consumers in fiber dark areas. Its goal is to address the last-mile connectivity problem in rural and urban India, where access to fiber infrastructure is challenging.
For the initial launch, the new Airtel Xstream AirFiber service is currently available for Airtel 5G users in Delhi and Mumbai. However, the company has assured it will progressively extend the service to all telecommunications circles.
Commenting on the launch of Airtel Xstream, Shashwat Sharma, Director-Consumer Business Bharti Airtel, said, "India has seen the rapid growth of home broadband, but there still remain areas with no access to hi-speed internet at home due to the physical challenges of laying fiber in a country the size of India. While fiber to the home will always define the best experience of Wi-Fi at home, AirFiber helps bridge the experience gap for everyone else. Today, we are delighted to launch Xstream AirFiber for consumers in Delhi and Mumbai with a pan-India rollout planned soon."
Airtel Xstream AirFiber plan
Airtel Xstream AirFiber service offers an affordable option with its Rs799 plan, which offers speeds up to 100 Mbps. This plan can be subscribed for six months and a one-time refundable security deposit of Rs. 2500.
