A user reported about this issue on Twitter and cautioned others from downloading this version as there are no extra features in this.

Some users also told that WhatsApp has already fixed the problem, but some users complained about the issue getting continued.

Several other users also reported that they are facing difficulty to see WhatsApp statuses. The bug is turning WhatsApp statuses grey making user assumes that were blocked by their friends.

In the meantime, to fix the issue WhatsApp has recently rolled out an update on iPhones that enabled anyone to go past the Face ID lock and read chats.

Recently WhatsApp introduced a new feature on iOS through which users can lock WhatsApp by using Face ID or a password. This native WhatsApp lock was in demand from a long time for privacy purpose. This will help users to protect WhatsApp chats if their mobile is being used by someone else. This feature is expected to arrive soon in Android phones too.

"If anyone is receiving abusive/ offensive/ death threats/ vulgar WhatsApp messages, please send screen-shots of the message along with the mobile numbers at [email protected]

DoT Controller Communications, Ashish Joshi, has tweeted, "We will take it up with the telecom operators and police heads for necessary action."
