The JioPhone 3 will be much more potent than JioPhone 2 in all aspects, expected to be powered by a MediaTek processor.

The telecom operator Reliance Jio is ready to finally launch the JioGigaFiber, after testing it for a long time, at the 42nd Annual General Meeting of the company, scheduled for August 12.

So far, there were no reports of whether Reliance Jio will launch a new phone with features this year. But now a report from Mysmartprice suggests that Jio is working on a 4G phone and it is expected to be called JioPhone 3. Jio has not yet revealed official details about the JioPhone 3.

It only reveals some of the hardware details of the JioPhone 3. The JioPhone 3 is said to work with the MediaTek processor, which is a massive update. The chipmaker will likely announce a dedicated chip for feature phones.

Considering Jio's previous record, the JioPhone 3 will be a much-improved version on the JioPhone 2. Reliance Jio launched its first feature phone, also known as JioPhone, in 2017 at the company's AGM. The JioPhone was followed by the JioPhone 2 that was launched in India on August 2018. The JioPhone 2 is a very updated version of the JioPhone in almost every possible aspect.

As per another report from the Economic Times General Manager for the Wireless Communication Business Unit at MediaTek, TL Lee has stated the next phones with 4G functions that work with the MediaTek processor.

In the statement, Lee mentioned: "The project [4G feature phone] is going on. We expect devices to be available soon. We are working with the telco, but OEMs for India we are working with KaiOS as well." Lee also said that initially, the company was planning to work with Reliance Retail to bring low-cost Android Go-powered smartphones.
