Amazon has revealed the date for its Great Indian Festival event, which will take place on October eight aligning with Flipkart’s Big Billion Days sale. Amazon also offers news for Prime members as Amazon will give them up to ten percent in extra benefits. Furthermore, Amazon's festive campaign covers aspects, including deals and promotions, shopping features, extended delivery coverage and the hiring of seasonal staff.
Amazon reports that customers will be able to get an instant 10 per cent discount on select transactions using SBI cards, although it has not yet detailed how this additional benefit will apply to specific products. Below is everything you need to know about this upcoming festive sales campaign.
What does the Amazon Great Indian Festival offer?
Amazon is facing a wave of price hikes in the smartphone market because of a memory shortage. Because of that, Amazon's "Great Indian Festival" might give shoppers a chance to find great prices on new and high‑end phones from leading brands like Apple, Samsung and Google. Amazon also points out that the sale will cover other favourite categories, such as televisions, fashion, beauty, household essentials and groceries. Amazon promises that this promotion will bring the prices of the year across a wide range of products.
The campaign will include various deal formats, such as "Blockbuster Deals," "Top 100 Deals," "Mega Deals," and "8 PM Deals." Shoppers can also take advantage of promotions such as "Buy More, Save More," "Exchange Mela" (exchange fair), "Sample Mania," and "Amazon Combos." Additionally, interest-free installment payment options (EMI) and exchange offers will be available across various categories.
Amazon is also highlighting its AI-powered shopping features for the festive season. Customers will be able to compare products, view price history, and receive recommendations using AI tools integrated into product pages and the search function. These features are designed to make it easier for shoppers to compare and find products.
In addition to commercial offers, Prime members will have access to special festive programming on Prime Video, including exclusive original titles across various genres and languages. Amazon has not yet revealed the specific titles that will be part of this lineup. Amazon expands its distribution network ahead of the festive season.
Leading up to the sales campaign, Amazon has announced the creation of over 160,000 temporary jobs within its logistics network, which spans 400 cities in India.
The company also announced its largest operational network expansion to date, adding 20 fulfilment centres, six sortation centres, and 150 last-mile delivery stations. Its network currently serves more than 2 million sellers nationwide, following the addition of over 300,000 sellers in the past year.
Amazon Now, the company's rapid delivery service, is currently available to millions of customers in over 60 cities. Amazon plans to expand the service to 100 cities before Diwali. Customers can check availability in their area by opening the Amazon shopping app and looking for the "Now" banner.
