Hyderabad’s first professional football academy for all age groups, the Hyderabad Football Academy
Hyderabad: Hyderabad's first professional football academy for all age groups, the Hyderabad Football Academy, is all set to celebrate Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Grassroots Day 2019 at Astropark Apollo here on Wednesday.
Coinciding with this 'Children and Youth Football' will be played by kids and youth in the age group of 5 to 15 years. Hyderabad Football Academy is the official grassroots partner of Kerala Blasters.
Grassroots sports clubs in each city play a very significant role. They help people to stay healthy, fit and agile. It also helps develop a]n individual's sporting talents and acumen.
The AFC is the governing body of Asian football and one of the six confederations making up FIFA. Grassroots football is football for all, a press release said on Tuesday.
"Football is a great game. But, unfortunately over the several years football at the gross-level is very much neglected in this city.
If one has to develop the sport, focusing on it is the only way forward. There is no second way out for this," Hyderabad Football Academy said in a statement.
FIFA's grassroots football programme targets boys and girls between6-12 years old through school, community and club initiatives.
The key concept of the programme is to bring together as many people as possible through football.
