Twitter reacts as India thrash Bangladesh to win the series 2-0
Team India broke little sweat on Sunday as the bowlers cleaned up the Bangladeshis within the first hour of play on Day 3 to register yet another handsome victory on home soil; this time by a margin of an innings and 46 runs.
Team India broke little sweat on Sunday as the bowlers cleaned up the Bangladeshis within the first hour of play on Day 3 to register yet another handsome victory on home soil; this time by a margin of an innings and 46 runs.
Speedster Umesh Yadav stood as the wrecker-in-chief as he scalped Ebadat Hossain, Mushfiqur Rahim and Al-Amin Hossain in quick succession in the first session to pick a memorable five-for at the Eden Gardens. The Vidarbha cricketer returned with figures of 5/53 while Ishant Sharma accounted for 4/56 to complete the game with stunning figures of 9/78. The lanky pacer was deservingly adjudged the player of the match and the player of the series awards.
The triumph saw ViratKohli and Co lift the two-match series 2-0, thereby maintaining their dream run in the longest format this year. In addition to helping India strengthen their position in the World Test Championship standings, the win also meant that the sub-continent side became the fifth side to win their first pink ball Test. The Indians even scripted history for becoming the first side to win four consecutive Tests with an innings margin.
India's emphatic win is being met with rapturous applause from different corners. Former players, experts, and fans have been taking to social media to applaud a thoroughly professional performance from the world's top rated Test side.

And there it is. Afraid it has been a one-sided series. India have been too good for their opponents at test cricket in this home season.

Four years ago, against South Africa, India's spinners took 61 wickets to 9 for the quicks. In this series, spin got but 5 (none in this test) vs 33 to pace. The times, they are a changin'!
