IPL 2020: Virat Kohli, David Warner, Suresh Raina hold special records in India's T20 league

Virat Kohli is the leading run-scorer in the Indian Premier League (IPL) having scored 5,412 runs in 177 innings at an average of 37.84. Kohli, who has played only for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), since the debut season in 2008) has scored five hundred and 36 fifties in as many as 12 seasons of the league.
In the list of most runs in the IPL, Kohli is ahead of Suresh Raina of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan of Delhi Capitals (DC).
Raina, who has played for CSK and Gujarat Lions, has scored 5.368 runIPL 2020, India's T20 league, Virat Kohli, David Warner, Suresh Raina's in 193 innings at an average of 33.34. No other player in the history of IPL has played as many games as Raina, who has played 193 matches since the inaugural season of 2008. Second on the list of most matches is Raina's CSK's skipper, MS Dhoni, who has played three games less.
Rohit comes third on the list of most matches with 188 matches under his belt and has scored 4,898 runs having played for two franchises, Deccan Chargers and MI. While MI currently holds the record of most IPL titles (4), their captain, Rohit has won five IPL titles. His first IPL trophy came in 2009 when IPL was held in South Africa and DC had defeated RCB in the final. Rohit's next four IPL titles have come with MI.
Meanwhile, among the players who have scored 3,000 or more runs, Australia's Warner has the best average ahead of the likes of Kohli and Rohit. Having played with two sides in the IPL – Delhi Daredevils and SRH – Warner has scored 4,706 runs at an average of 43.17.
In the last few years, RCB and SRH captains have gone neck to neck in the race to be the best batter in IPL. In 2016, run-machine Kohli broke all records as he went on to record mind-boggling 973 runs in 16 games at an average of 81.08. The same edition also saw Warner unleash himself but he could not touch Kohli's number. Warner, who led SRH to the title that year, ended with 848 runs from 17 matches at an average of 60.57.
Kohli was unbelievable in IPL 2016 where he hammered as many as four centuries and seven fifties. It was a fitting finale as the best batmen's teams – SRH and RCB faced off at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Warner and Co won a nail-biting final as they defeated the home side by only eight runs.
