Hyderabad: Minister of Sports V Srinivas Goud together with the Chairman Sports Authority of Telangana State Allipuram Venkateshwar Reddy met Chief Minister at Pragati Bhavan to discuss about the development of sports in Telangana State. The Sports Minister & SATS Chairman put forward a few points in the discussion viz:
To take necessary action for making Telangana State a Sports hub by conducting the "Khelo India Youth Games" in the coming days. Already central govt is working on picking up the talented sports persons from both the rural and urban areas, hence there is a need to initiate the same in Telangana State to bring up the talented Sports Persons to the national & international levels.
After the formation of Telangana State many sports persons from rural areas are proving their talent in both national & international level winning medals - Nikhat Zareen(Boxer), Yerra Dikshitha (weight lifting), Tharangini (Sepaktakraw), Sowmya (Football), Malawat Poorna (Mountainer), Tanishq (Cycling), Harsha Bharath Koti (Chess), Arjun (Chess), Husamuddin (Boxer). Hence the Telangana State should keep continuing the support and encouragement to the sports persons by which our state can grab more medals in national and international levels.
Chief Minister was requested to provide Gym & Sports Materials to around 9000 youth clubs in rural areas of Telangana State.
