Anusha Dandekar who is famously known as a VJ is back with MTV's 'Love School'. The host who was last seen on the show 'India's Next Top model', is all set and geared up with a show that will showcase her with partner Karan Kundra. The VJ who is also an actress and a singer with immense talent and gorgeous look puts forth the best in her work. Giving a glimpse of what the show is all about, Anusha shares…
'This year is special because we are truly celebrating love with section 377. We are free to love whoever we want and however we want. It is kind of a historical moment for Karan and me, and, for everyone who believes in freedom of love. Whatever the sexual orientation you are allowed on the show. These days everyone is hiding behind social media, which has become part of our lives so much that they we forgot what true love is.
Most of us also forgot self-love and reality is scary. We wanted to bring back the reality and highlight it in the show.'Stressing about her role in the show Anusha shares, 'So, Karan and I are the love professors, we basically give guidance and help them with their Ups and their downs. The couples in the show go through a lot. You can't love anyone if you don't love yourself and then we taught them self love. We mentored them on understanding each other.'
Anusha and Karan, the hosts of this show are seen mentoring couples and being a couple off-screen the actress shares about their chemistry, "Karan is my favourite person to work with in true sense. When we are on screen, we are complete professionals; we give each other space and time to work. When we go home we are chilling out together, we go running on the beach, swim and it is so much fun. I don't think that I could do this show with anyone else because it's really grooving, and the hours are very long, and I have lot of fun working with him.'
About mentoring the couples in the show as a couple, she says, 'The best thing is to give our own life experiences. It is not that we are professionals and we hold a degree in love. Just watching them and being the third person in each couple's relationship we always see it in a better way. You don't need to scream at each other to settle things, we basically talk from the third perspective which is really healthy as we see it clearer and we can calm them down.'
Sharing special moments from the show the VJ said, "There was a subject that really touched my heart and broke me emotionally which is the subject of truth. We had team A and B and I had a conversation with half of the team and Karan did same with the other half. We were separated and these students opened up to me, their truth and their past was an eye opener.
It gave us a better understanding about where they came from and why they feel the way they do, and why they fear relationships. It was difficult and helpless for me as I could not change their past, but the good thing is that I am there hopefully to change their future.'"You get to hear about sexual abuse and you obviously take a step to support them. Even though they do things on the show, they are humans inside," she adds.
On asking about reality shows being scripted she comments, 'It is really upsetting and frustrating, I want to question which script writer is ready to write a script which is about 15 hours long? This is not possible; when you are casting people, you cast them because of their stories. At the end of the day whatever comes out of you is reality, it is not that somebody is coming and giving you a dialogue.
It is funny that people think that reality shows are scripted. Scripting is harder than letting it be natural. In other words if it is scripted everyone has to be an actor. It is not that the camera crew is there 24/7; if somebody starts fighting the camera captures it because of the noise.'
