Kakinada: Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Nimmakayala China Rajappa inaugurated a community building and a fish market at Eswar Nagar in Ramanayya Peta here on Thursday.

He along with the Rural MLA Pilli Anantha Lakshmi opened NTR Fish Market and the community development building, built at a cost of Rs 21.5 lakh and Rs 35 lakh respectively.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajappa said that their government was keen to develop the weaker sections of society. He added that with the launch of the fish market, all the fishermen would sell their catch under one roof.

Alleging neglect of the rural MLA at the beach festival by the government, Rajappa slammed the government officials for not giving the MLA due importance. He further said that every officer should respect people's representatives. He assured that he would take the issue to the notice of the Chief Minister and would take appropriate action for the same.

The residents of Suryarao Peta blocked the convoy of the Home Minister, demanding justice for their Sarpanch Babji who was said to be manhandled by the police on Wednesday night. The Home Minister assured them issue would be resolved post the conclusion of the festival.
