Capturing moments of life has become an integral part of life nowadays. There were times when memories just came out as words and expression, but not anymore - with advancement in technology - photography has changed the concept of capturing memories since decades, more so now.
Be it a wedding or any family get together a photographer is always available to capture every moment. Though the times have changed with people capturing their life moments on their phones; the charm of shooting with a regular camera preferably taken by a professional hasn’t changed.
Today, we have photography sessions for every occasion in a couple’s life – pre-wedding shoot, location shoots for couples, shooting pictures during pregnancy and of late Hyderabad photographers have come up with a new concept, which captures every moment of a newborn that can be cherished for years.
The trending concept of capturing newborn children has amused many mothers in the recent times. Parents who always want to treasure every memory of their child; to them, this concept has made every dream become a reality. Some of them consider it a boon and some love the experience of being captured at the most memorable time.
Speaking about this whole new concept of capturing the newborn child Stella Susanne, who stepped into motherhood recently shares, “I love the whole concept of having the lens capture my little one the minute she was born. These moments can be recalled for years and having a captured moment makes me feel the beautiful moment every minute. I have had the privilege of getting photographs as soon as my girl was born. This concept has really touched my heart.”
While on one side are mothers, who consider it an amazing concept there are mothers, who feel that the whole concept is commercial and should not be encouraged. D Swetha, who recently delivered a baby said, “If I want to capture any moment of my child, I would rather prefer doing it with my phone, which has a camera. I think that this concept in hospitals is commercial and should not be encouraged.”
Having a difference of opinion about the concept has not affected the photographers, who are in this business. Speaking about photographing a newborn, Sandeep Dinker, a photographer, who is in this field since 2010 shares, “This whole concept started when one of my friend’s brother’s wife was delivering a baby and they wanted me to capture the moments from when the baby entered into this world, which was quite amazing.”
He adds, “Every moment of a newborn captured is a beautiful thing to happen in one’s life. Even before the mother could see the baby I was allowed into the incubation room to capture portraits of the newborn baby. You get to capture the most beautiful moments of the baby with the umbilical cord and then a week later a photo shoot with the parents It somehow was liked by families and so many of them started approaching me for this.”
Mentioning about feasibility, Sandeep says, “This concept is feasible enough, abroad it is a profession, where there are photographers specifically for newborns and toddlers. In India, this trend has caught up five years ago.”
Depending upon the baby the photos are taken, sometimes it takes two sessions and an average of 30 images to be developed during the photo sessions. “We do videos of the newborn as well, but we make sure the room is lit enough so that they can be filmed clearly.”
Costing around Rs 10,000 for a photo shoot, the parents can now physically gather moments that can be cherished for a lifetime.
