Tandur: Devotees thronged Lord Shiva temples from early morning to perform abhishekams and poojas on account of Maha Shivaratri here on Monday.
The temples reverberated with Hara Hara Mahadev, Shambo Shankara and other chantings.
Members of Jana Chaitanya Yuvajana Sangham distributed fruits to as many as 1,500 devotees at Koteshwara temple. The temples have been decorated with electric lights.
The devotees competed to lit oil lamps at Sri Sambu Lingeswara Swamy temple in Peddemul.
Earlier, Local MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy offered special prayers. He was given a grand welcome by the temple priests and authorities.
