Suryapet: District Superintendent of Police R Venkateshwarlu appealed to the people to follow traffic rules without fail to avoid accidents and for their safe journey.

On Thursday, along with district transport official Madhusudhan Reddy and DSP (Admin) Pujitha Neelam, at DPO office in Suryapet, the SP released a poster of accident-free day (no-accident day) to create awareness among the people about traffic rules.

Speaking on the occasion, he informed that rallies and meetings have been conducted from February 4 to February 14 in all police station limits in the district to create awareness about traffic rules as part of National Road Safety Week celebrations.

Black spots in the district were identified during the Road Safety Week and precautionary measures have been taken to prevent accidents at that places, he added.

Stating that a majority of accidents have been taking place due to human mistakes, he advised the people to not to drink and drive besides wear a seat belt while driving and travelling, maintain speed limit, avoid overload, wear helmet and follow the traffic rules strictly to avoid grief for their beloved.
