Mahbubnagar: Six people suffered grievous injuries in a twin cylinder blast that took place at a road side tea stall in Padmavati Colony in the district on Friday. Condition of one of the women injured in the blast is said to be very critical.
According to eye witnesses, the blast occurred when the five municipal staff were trying to fire the waste dump stocked nearby the tea stall. The impact of the blast was such that all the five municipal staff and the tea stall owner were thrown away to some distance.
The blast was so intense that glasses of some vehicles, parked cars and the window panes of nearby houses were shattered. It is said that the main reason for the blast was due to the leakage of the gas cylinder in the tea stall. The police have registered a case and took up the investigation. Meanwhile, they shifted the injured to the government hospital for treatment.
