Himayat Nagar: The 13-day exhibition-cum-sale, Silk & Cotton Expo, was inaugurated by Latha Chowdary, city socialite & founder president of Women's Welfare Service Organization (WWSO) at TTD Kalyana Mandapam, Himayat Nagar on Wednesday.
During inauguration, Latha displayed sarees, dress materials and 1gram gold jewellery, etc. Speaking to media persons, she said, "There are beautiful collections being displayed at the handloom expo. The visitors can have the benefit of choosing sarees, dress materials, other handloom collections from various states under one roof. There is a very good collection for city fashion lovers at the Silk and Cotton Expo and an opportunity to encourage weavers and designers to exhibit their products.
The exhibition organiser Md Akbar Ali and Society Secretary Konale Rama Rao said, "The Silk and cotton expo is displaying original handmade products and Telangana special Pochampally Ikkat sarees, dress materials and silk and cotton textiles. More than 80 designers and master weavers have used their creativity and skills to create exquisite handlooms that is fashioned into high end apparels and home furnishings"
The exhibition showcases different types of Uppada Sarees, Chandra Silk Sarees, Kalamkari, Venkatagiri, Pochampally Silk Sarees, Rajasthan Cotton sarees, Hand block print Sarees, Bhagalpur Silk, Bengal Cotton, Kashmir Silk sarees, Lucknow Chikan Sarees, Banaras Sarees, Kanta Work Sarees, Designer Suite, Designer Blouses, Designer Tops, Jaipur's Bedsheets, Jaipur Black Bangles, Stone Jewellery, one gram gold Jewellery, Kondapalli Toys Etc.
