Hyderabad: TRS working president K T Rama Rao on Wednesday lashed out at a section of media for publishing news relating to Amaravati in Telangana editions and failure to carry Telangana State news in Andhra editions.

Rama Rao was speaking a meeting of journalist union TUWJ which felicitated journalist turned politician Ch Kranti who became MLA in the recent Assembly elections. Rama Rao said even after five years of Telangana coming into existence, few media houses are imposing their ideology on people.

“They are still showing dominant attitude... as if to say whatever we do is correct. Everyday we see Amaravati related news in newspapers in Telangana State. Is it not their minimum courtesy to show Telangana related news in Amaravati also? When I was in New Delhi and see newspaper there is no news of Telangana State, neither they have our photos. When I asked them, they said it is Andhra edition. If there is no news of Telangana State in Andhra edition, is there any need to have Andhra news in Telangana edition? If the Chief Minister speaks about it, it angers some people,” said Rama Rao.

Rama Rao said that there was a need to promote newspapers with Telangana ideology. “There is a need to put full stop for attitude like ‘we will sit on your head... you don’t have wisdom etc. There is a need to promote media houses with Telangana ideology. If we do this, they will say freedom of expression is in danger and show it as attack on entire media,” said Rao referring to a section of media.

Rama Rao said the TRS had given representation to all sections of the society. He said that the tickets were given to journalists (Ch Kranti Kiran and S Ramalinga Reddy), advocate (Kaleru Venkatesh), artists (Rasamayi Balkishan), Students (B Suman, G Kishore and P Ravi). He said that Rajya Sabha leader K Keshava Rao is also a journalist. The TRS leader also said that no other government was working with more commitment than Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. He said that as a Former Minister and also working president of the party, he would take responsibility of solving the problems of journalists.

Rama Rao said AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was on verge of losing elections, hence he was copying the programs of TRS government. However, he said that people were wise in Andhra Pradesh and they would not believe in the freebees given before elections.
