Hyderabad: Bonthu Rammohan, the Mayor of Hyderabad city, has informed the denizens of the capital that a ban has been imposed on digging of roads till January 31. He instructed the officials of various departments to complete pending construction works such as roads, footpaths, and others at the earliest in view of upcoming Swachh Survekshan survey.
He was speaking at a special meeting convened on Thursday with higher officials of Hyderabad Road Development Corporation, police, traffic, Hyderabad Metro Rail, HMDA, electricity and other departments. GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore and GHMC officials also attended the meeting.
The Mayor urged the officials to complete various construction works undertaken by various engineering departments and also shift construction debris and other waste materials to the designated places at the earliest,.
He said the responsibility of ensuring success in Swachh Survekshan rests on all the departments. He expressed unhappiness at some departments for not placing two dust bins for every 50 meters in commercial areas despite informing them so in the earlier review meeting.
He asked Metro officials to complete placing of dust bins in the remaining 24 Metro rail stations. So far 200 dust bins have kept in 30 Metro stations. He instructed HMDA officials to keep dust bins in all the parks on Necklace road maintained by GHMC.
He stressed that these measures are being taken not just to improve its ranking in the Swachh Survekshan survey but to enhance the overall cleanliness of the city. He indicated that the CM KCR may conduct a review meeting in this regard.
