Hyderabad: The president of Heera Group Victims Association, Shahbaz Ahmed Khan, on Tuesday sought police security alleging threat to his life from men who are close to Nowhera Shaikh, the managing director of Heera Group.
He had recently announced his intentions to take on all the Ponzi schemes operating in India, which are cheating Muslims with the false promises of providing huge profits in no time.
In the letter submitted to Telangana DGP, he asked the police to provide security gunmen, in view of threat perception from unidentified persons.
Calling himself a ‘whistle blower’, he said that he is fighting on behalf of depositors of the Heera Group of Companies and that he made many complaints against the company.
He said that since then he has been receiving threat calls from unidentified persons.
“Following my complaint to the police against Nowhera Shaikh and others, I have been receiving threatening calls from unknown persons.
Earlier in September, I lodged a complaint at Humayun Nagar Police Station, as I was receiving threatening calls from an unknown number,” he said.
Shahbaz alleged that despite complaint, he has been getting threatening calls from one Mutiur Rahman Aziz, who claims to be a resident of Delhi and action against him is still awaited.
“I have been receiving calls from unknown persons where in they threaten me to stop fighting against Heera group of companies and to take cases. They threatened to kill me and my family members,” he added.
It may be mentioned here that Nowhera Shaikh was once again arrested on January 3 by the AP police in a Ponzi scheme case.
She was taken into custody by CID (Crime Investigation Department) of AP in Chittoor District.
She was earlier arrested by Hyderabad police and later by Mumbai police purportedly for duping investors. She was recently released on bail in Mumbai.
Earlier in July, Shahbaz lodged a police compliant against life threats. Following the complaint, the MIM leader claimed that Nowhera targeted him first by alleging ‘rape attempt’ in 2010, which has not been proved.
He alleged that a ‘contract killer’ named Sikander was sent to “kill him” in 2012. “Notwithstanding, she filed Rs 100 crore defamation case against me in 2016, which again has not been proved.
Later, she also lodged a complaint against me in Mumbai in 2017, alleging extortion of Rs 5 crore,” he added.
