Musheerabad: The founding national president of Dalit Bahujan Party, Vadlamudi Krishna Swaroop, has said that the party aims to empower SC, ST, BC and minority communities by following the principles of Dr BR Ambedkar, the architect of the constitution of India.

He spoke at a party meeting held at Sundaraiah Vignana Kendram in Baghlingampally on Tuesday.

Swaroop said that the party would work according to the ideals propagated by Dr BR Ambedkar, Mahatma Jyothiba Phule and Gautam Buddha.

He accused both the state and central governments of colluding with corporate and the forces of forward castes to work against the principles enshrined in the constitution.

He alleged that both Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are trying to suppress the backward castes and communities.
Swaroop urged people to teach a lesson to both KCR and Modi in the upcoming Parliament elections. The party will field its candidates for all seats in Telangana and in the five south Indian states in the Parliament elections, he said.

Expressing apprehensions on EVMs, he alleged that KCR won the state assembly by tampering EVMs in collusion with the Telangana State Election Commission and demanded an enquiry into it by a Supreme Court judge.

Responding to the 10 per cent reservations to upper caste poor, he said that reservations should only be based on social community rather than on economic status.

He called upon SCs, STs, BCs and minorities to unite and to fight against Economically Backward Class (EBC) reservations. He urged the Telangana state government to implement SC/ST act and take measures to prevent misutilization of SC/ST sub-plan funds.

Swaroop demanded the state and central governments to provide reservations in private sector, as well.

Later, he appointed Vedavrath as the party president for Telangana, Chevuri Raju as general secretary and formed the party state committee, comprising of 31 members.

The party national advisors Veerraju, Dasari Ramachandra Rao, S Ravi and others attended the meeting.
