​Hyderabad: An action plan is being prepared by the GHMC for the coming six months, especially with regard to sanitation and health care of the citizens, where mayor, corporators and officials will be coordinating for the overall development of sanitation and all other civic-related issues. They will duly interact and conduct meetings at zonal, circle and ward level, to effectively reach the targets assigned.
Denying that only sanitation is being taken proper care of during Swachh Survekshan, the GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore said that the corporation is devising plans addressing all concerns of denizens, keeping in view the vision of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. He was speaking to the media in LB Nagar.
Awareness campaigns are being planned to involve resident welfare associations (RWAs), NGOs, self-help groups (SHGs) and others on how to control various problems such as release of water by commercial establishments on roads, rampant use of plastic and non-segregation of waste by people, hotels, hospitals, temple authorities etc.
Taking note of roads and traffic issues the city is facing, the GHMC is focusing on Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP) works, which regular inspections are being conducted every week, the Commissioner said. He appealed through media to all the citizens to work together to make the city clean and green.
A lot of care is being taken to deal with water issues. Even the government is very keen to provide water to everyone, and has a vision keeping in view the needs of the city for next 40 years. Citizens are urged to cooperate with officials and elected representatives, while taking up civic-related issue.
The Commissioner said that GHMC is taking up one lakh double bed room houses at a cost of Rs 8,000 crores, and stated that all the works were in progress. By the end of the year, the entire works on the double bed room houses would be completed, he assured. In this regard, he pointed out the corporation efforts to provide basic minimum facilities at the double bed room housing sites viz., parks, play grounds, drinking water, street lights and drainage.
Surprise inspections conducted
LB Nagar: Srinivas Reddy, the Zonal Commissioner, along with senior officials of various wings of GHMC, conducted surprise inspection of various departments and works at Kapra, Uppal, Hayathnagar; LB Nagar circles here on Tuesday.
