​Hyderabad: Chief Secretary S K Joshi on Saturday instructed the district authorities including Collectors, SPs and Panchayat Raj officials to work in tandem for the conduct of Panchayat election in a fair and peaceful manner. The Chief Secretary, accompanied by State Election Commission (SEC) Chairman V Nagi Reddy and DGP Mahendar Reddy, conducted a video conference with district authorities and reviewed arrangements for the ensuing local body elections to be held in three phases. He instructed the officials to address the problems being faced by them in providing arrangements for the smooth conduct of the elections.
The SEC chairman instructed the officials to appoint Assistant Election Expenditure Observers before the commencement of filing nominations and make all necessary arrangements to deploy flying squads and static parties to monitor the poll process. Sensitive mapping of the villages to ensure peaceful elections is also under progress. Web casting and video recording of the polling will be done in every polling booth.
The progress in electoral rolls printing, distribution of voters’ slips, ballot papers and indelible ink was also reviewed in the meeting, officials said that the police authorities were entrusted the responsibility of monitoring law and order situation in the identified sensitive villages. Panchayat Raj Secretary Vikas Raj and Home Secretary Rajiv Trivedi were also present in the meeting.
