Hyderabad: Shilparamam is Hyderabad’s tribute to India’s natural beauty, richly diverse cultural heritage and vibrant ethos. It is a place where artisans from across India showcase their individual skills in a variety of arts, crafts and culture. From Indian pottery to a plethora of weaves, woodwork, jewellery, clothes and local crafts of each region of the country, Shilparamam is kaleidoscope of India’s colour, diversity and talent with a special focus of Telangana Handlooms and handicrafts.

The much-awaited jamboree All India Crafts Mela is underway. It began on December 15 and will conclude on December 31. It is bringing alive a whole new world of arts, artisans and art lovers with a cultural milieu like none other. An array of rich handloom and handicrafts representing from all over India are participating in this mega mela. It is one of the biggest melas of our country and stands in the second place after the Surajkund Mela of Delhi.

More than 500 artisans from all over the country are participating in this mela representing the handlooms, handicrafts, wood carving, Cane Furniture, Pottery. Madhubani Paintings, Patachitra Painting, Kashmiri Silver Jewellery, Pembarthy Brass Metal, etc are very attractive. Visitors who in the beginning were just trickling in are now thronging the venue in huge numbers. A beehive of activity is visible anytime these days.

Handloom section features Madhya Pradesh Chenderi Sarees, Maheshwari sarees, Uttar Pradesh Banaras Brocade Sarees, Gujarat Patola sarees, Bihar Bagalpur Sarees, West Bengal kantha sarees, Kuppadam, Pochampally Sarees, Gadwal Sarees, Lenin Sarees, Work Sarees, Venkatagiri Sarees, Organza Sarees, Kota sarees and Jute Pattu Sarees which are finding many takers. Shilparamam is organising cultural programmes to regale the visitors daily at 5.30 pm onwards.
