Hyderabad: The Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC) has inked a deal with Sikkim State to develop adventure activities and provide technical knowhow. TSTDC managing director B Manohar said, “Their expertise would help in developing adventure activities in the state. Sikkim attracts a lot of tourists, especially adventure seeking ones. Telangana has a huge potential” Manoj Chettri, Tourism Information Officer, Department of Tourism, Sikkim would be playing a major part in developing activities such as like paragliding, mountaineer, trekking etc. He is also a member of Sikkim paragliding association, a member of Sikkim Mountaineering Association and expert on home stay/rural tourism.
Raju Rai, divisor, Sikkim Paragliding Association, is a first FAI Asian to have participated in Oceanic Paragliding Accuracy Championship in 2017 at Thailand. He also participated in the open international and national team selection paragliding competition 2017 and participated in Kyrenia open international paragliding accuracy championship in 2017. The experts visited Bhongiri fort, Ananthagiri in Vikarabad, Nagarjuna Sagar- Buddhavanam, Laknavaram, Vijay Vihar complex and Nagarjunakonda to take stock of the areas. Based on the above visit of the both specimen a report will be submitted soon to the TSTDC on the feasibility for implementing adventure activates such as paragliding, zip liner, water sports, trekking, camping and infrastructure development.
TSTDC MD Manohar said the officials would be visiting Hyderabad again on December 30 and would start the adventure activities at Bhongiri Fort which will be effective by Sankranthi. They would also visit Farahabad wildlife sanctuary for feasibility of adventure activates. The TSTDC officials Venu, OSD, Mruthyunjay, superintending engineer, Sri Nathan, General Manager (Hotels), Shanthi Samadhanam, General Manager (Accounts), Satyakumar Reddy, AGM, Janardhan AGM, P Purandar, AGM, AnjiReddy, Joint Manager participated.
