Hyderabad: In their last-ditch efforts to get favourable results in the elections, politicians from TRS and MIM were seen rushing to the city’s famous shrine, Dargah Yousufain in the last two days prior to people’s verdict. From the very next day of conclusion of polling on December 7, the politicians were seen rushing towards dargah Yousufain in Nampally and praying for the success of their respective political parties’ win in elections.
The dargah wore a festive ambience with the visit of politicians starting from the caretaking Deputy CM Mohammed Mahmood Ali to Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin and many MLA candidates and party leaders, praying for the victory of their party. The caretaker deputy CM visited the shrine twice during the election period. While Deputy Mayor, MLA candidates and party leaders have been visiting the dargah regularly.
Mahmood Ali prayed for the good health of TRS party chief K Chandrasekhar Rao and TRS party’s win against Praja Kutami in the second Assembly elections of the newly- formed Telangana State. He also requested the Telangana people to pray for the win of TRS in Assembly elections. While referring to the services of caretaker CM KCR, he felt that each and every state’s CM should emulate him, who was working hard for making the State a ‘bangaru Telangana’. He felt that Telangana topped in development in the four-and-a-half year-rule of TRS government.
Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin on Monday also visited the dargah along with corporators and party activists and prayed for the TRS party’s success. He said the caretaking CM KCR was the people’s man, as he respects all castes and “Ganga Jamuna Tehzeeb” of the city. “In these elections all the castes including SC, ST, BC and minorities voted for KCR and also prayed for KCR to win. Hence, I am praying for the success of the person who lives in everyone’s heart throughout the State,” he added. MLA candidate, Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri along with his aides also visited the dargah Yousufain on Monday, prayed for being successful in the Yakutpura constituency and also for the success of party AIMIM in eight seats in Hyderabad.
Later in the evening, the Congress (Praja Kutami) candidate Dr Dasoju Sravan, who is contesting from Khairatabad, also visited the dargah and presented chadar amidst much fanfare. Speaking on the occasion, he asserted that the Kutami will win and would work for the welfare of the people. He was accompanied by former corporator, SK Shareef, NSUI state secretary Shahnawaz and others.
