Hyderabad: District Election Officer and GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore said that 3,000 volunteers were appointed specially to provide services to differently abled voters in exercising their votes in the Hyderabad District. Free transportation will also be provided to disabled voters up to polling stations, he said.

Speaking to volunteers at GHMC Office on Wednesday, Dana Kishore said that special arrangements, such as construction of ramps and arrangement of wheel chairs, were made to help differently abled, pregnant women and senior citizens, he said. He instructed volunteers to take physically challenged voters up to Presiding Officer (PO) and Assistant Presiding Officer (APO). He also ordered them to provide information to control room once every hour on total number of disabled voters in the constituency and number of voters who exercised their votes.
