Kodangal: Professor Kodandaram, TJS chief and convenor of People’s Front, while justifying that formation of Praja Kutami was an imminent necessity to dethrone the autocratic, undemocratic and corrupt family rule led by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao. Stating that during the four-and-half years of TRs rule not a single promise was kept.

While speaking at a public meeting at Kodangal, Professor Kodandaram said that the TRS government had cared least for the aspirations and desires of those who scarified their lives for the sake of formation of new Telangana State. He said the TRS government miserably failed to implement its promises of providing 1 lakh jobs to youth and water to 1 lakh acres to each constituency in the State.

He alleged that the TRS government was involved in deep corruption as the leaders for the sake of earning huge commissions from the contractors has redesigned the various projects in the district. “I don’t understand why KCR is bringing water from downstream, when Krishna River is flowing about 300 kilometres along the Mahbubnagar border starting from Krishna mandal.

I asked why can’t you take water from upstream and fill up all the empty lakes in Kodaganl and Kosgi regions. Instead for the sake of commissions they redesigned PRRLI project for getting commissions from the contractors,” alleged Kodandaram. He said if People’s Front comes to power, he will ensure a special department will be created to implement the promises of Congress party.

If voted to power, Kodandaram said, the farmers will get Rs 2 lakh loan waiver, provide 1 lakh jobs in 100 days, Rs 2,000 pension each to old aged couples, Rs 1 lakh grant to self help groups and another 10 lakh interest-free loan for self help groups. He said contract and outsourcing employees will become permanent and will implement equal pay for equal work as per the Supreme Court’s directions.

Each ration card-holder will get 6 gas cylinders free and get 9 different varieties of grains free of cost from the PDS shops. Each poor family will get 7 kilograms of rice from PDS system. For agriculture farmers all crops will be given minimum support price for their produce and will be procured by the government itself.
