Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Monday alleged that Telangana Rashtra Samithi Chief K Chandrashekar Rao was characterless and had no right to talk against the Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
Speaking at the ‘Meet the Press’ organised by the Telangana Union of Working Journalists here, Uttam stated he was rendering services to the nation as an Air Force pilot on India-China border, while KCR was involved in a fake passport case.
“People took part in the Telangana agitation like the freedom struggle expecting their lives will change with the formation of new State. But, KCR has deceived all of them,” said Uttam, adding that the Telangana was a reality because of Sonia Gandhi without whom the Statehood demand would have remained a dream.
“Of the 543 MPs in the Lok Sabha, KCR was the only member representing TRS while Vijayashanti had already joined Congress. The Congress defeated all parties and achieved Telangana. You have seen how Narendra Modi has opposed Telangana,” said Uttam, adding that the party could not come to power because of some mistakes.
The Congress president said that Chandrashekar Rao achieved only 33 per cent votes, which meant 67 per cent of people of the State did not want him as the Chief Minister. “No other politician has made the politics corrupt than KCR, who downgraded politics by purchasing Sarpanches, MPTCs, ZPTCs, MLAs and MPs,” alleged Reddy.
The State Congress chief alleged that while he was in army serving the nation at India-China borders, the TRS president was indulging in fake passports case. “I drove MIG 21 and MIG 23 planes. You (KCR) are a characterless fellow. When Delhi police arrested KCR, Congress leader M Satyanarayana ensured he is released,” said Reddy.
Uttam alleged that the TRS chief had done nothing and not even 5 per cent of households got drinking water under Mission Bhagiratha. He said that Chandrashekar Rao was sure to go to his farm house and his son, K T Rama Rao, to America after the elections.
He further alleged that the TRS chief got 6 per cent commission from the irrigation projects and he was spending that money in the upcoming elections. He said that Chandrashekar Rao was taking up Goebbles campaign that Chandrababu Naidu would stop the projects.
The TPCC chief said that Chandrashekar Rao’s government did not produce a single unit of power and the projects like Adilabad 1,200 MW and Bhupalpally 600 MW were started by the Congress governments where the TRS president only inaugurated them. He said that there was surplus of power in 27 out of 29 States in the country.
Uttam alleged that the TRS chief deceived even Minorities on the 12 per cent reservations. He said that the Congress if voted to power would allocate 12 per cent of the budget to Minorities.
Uttam also alleged that both the BJP and TRS were fascist forces and said that the journalists who question them get killed.
Replying to a question on Dalit Chief Minister, Uttam said that the Congress party was not making any such promise. To another question, he said that N Padmavati had got ticket because she was a sitting MLA.
TPCC chief said that if Congress comes to power, the RTC would be merged with government. Further, the government would fill up all vacant posts in various departments in the first year itself, a mega DSC would be organised to fill 20,000 teachers posts. He also promised to provide house sites to journalists.
