Block Babu’s backdoor entry

Warangal/Nalgonda: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is trying to intrude into Telangana politics by extending backdoor support to the Congress, TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao said on Friday. Addressing election meetings at Narsampet, Mahabubabad, Dornakal and Jangaon in the erstwhile Warangal district, Tungaturthy and Suryapet in the erstwhile Nalgonda district, KCR also mentioned about the development and welfare initiatives that his government had taken up during the last four and half years.

“We have proved wrong the contention of N Kiran Kumar Reddy who was the last chief minister of the undivided Andhra Pradesh that if the state is divided, it would herald the arrival of dark days as there would be no power. The other so-called intellectual Chandrababu also didn’t imagine the way out to tackle the power problem during his regime. However, Telangana overcame the problem due to TRS government’s efforts,” KCR said.

“While we give 24-hour power supply to the farm sector, it is the other way around in the AP. The per capita consumption of electricity in Telangana is much higher than the national average; he claimed credit, quoting the figures of the CEA,” KCR said.

Further, he accused Chandrababu Naidu of trying to stall almost all the irrigation projects in Telangana. Referring to the double-bedroom-housing scheme, KCR said that one unit is equal to that of seven units of Indiramma houses constructed by the Congress regime. The housing scheme may be moving a bit slowly, but all those who are eligible would get them in due course of time, he assured.

KCR said that local body polls will be held within a month of completion of the Assembly elections. As many as 3,500 tribals across the state will be part of local body administration, he said. Referring to the 12 per cent reservations for the Muslims and tribals, KCR criticised the BJP-led Central government for seeing every issue from the Hindu-Muslim angle. He said that if people extend their support to TRS candidates in the next year’s Lok Sabha elections, they will work for 12 per cent reservation for the Muslims and tribes.

KCR assured to come up with a solution to extend the benefits of the Rythu Bandhu scheme for the Podu farmers in six months if his party was voted to power. In Jangaon, he assured the people to establish medical, nursing and polytechnic colleges.

The Chief Minister, speaking at Suryapet and Tungaturthi, said that he would not take rest until he provides water to one crore acres in Telangana during the next four to five years. He said that after June next year, Kaleshwaram water would come to these two constituencies and there would be water for two crops every year.
KCR said that many parties would come and tell them many things during elections but people should vote after making a thorough assessment of his rule.

“People of Suryapet are wise. After going to your villages, take up debate, think what the truth is and what is a lie. If you take it easy, you will have to wait for five more years for a change in the government. There are two major parties at one side. There is four-year rule of the TRS and another side 58-year rule of the Congress and TDP. These leaders have not come down to earth from heaven," he said.

The Chief Minister listed out the schemes of his government, including the enhanced salaries to VROs, Asha workers, Rythu Bandhu, Beema, etc. He said the United Nations has selected Rythu Bandhu as one of the best 10 programmes of the world, he said.

Referring to Chandrababu Naidu and his efforts to enter Telangana through one way or the other, the TRS president said: “We have fought against Andhra rulers for 58 years. Do we need supremacy of Chandrababu again? The Congress leaders are bringing him back. They have bosses in Delhi and Amaravati, but for the TRS, people of Telangana are the bosses. Even the tickets of Congress leaders are finalised in Amaravati. These leaders are doing ‘Gulamgiri to Chandrababu Naidu,” said KCR.

Chandrasekhar Rao said that Chandrababu Naidu has done nothing for his state and is likely to lose in the next Assembly elections. “They have 175 seats. He has done nothing. They will not get even deposits in the next elections,” he said.
