Hyderabad: TRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao on Thursday said that if TRS loses the Assembly election, it would be no loss for him as he would take rest at home. But would be a great loss for Telangana people as AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will have an upper hand over Telangana. The TRS president made these comments while addressing a public meeting in Khanapur Assembly constituency in Nirmal on Thursday.
He said, “If TRS loses, it is not a big loss for me. What will happen? We will work effectively if you help us win. Otherwise I will take rest at home. But, who will be at loss? The Telangana State and people. Chandrababu Naidu wrote 35 letters to the Centre against the projects. He would be thinking about Andhra and not about Telangana," he said.
The TRS chief, speaking at election meetings in North Telangana, said that elections would come and go but the people should think and discuss before voting. He asked the people to discuss among themselves on the 58 years of rule by Congress and Telugu Desam parties and four years of TRS rule. “The Andhra rulers said Telangana will not have power but the fact is even the Andhra Pradesh is not providing 24-hour power supply but Telangana is the only state in the country to provide 24-hour power supply,” said Rao.
The chief minister said that soon 3,500 tribals were going to get elected with the government’s decision to covert the tribal tandas into Gram Panchayats. He said that 3,444 families of the farmers got benefit under the Rythu Beema scheme. He assured the people of Adilabad of solving their problems within two-three days after elections. He said that all the beedi workers would be given pensions.
The TRS leader lashed out at TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu for claiming to develop Hyderabad. “Chandrababu Naidu says he has constructed Hyderabad... if that is the case what Quli Qutubshah has done. What the Congress bigwigs have done,” he said. Impressed with the development, about 40 villages from neighbouring Maharashtra wanted to be merged with Telangana, he added.
The chief minister said that the government would take up ENT tests after the completion of ‘Kanti Velugu’. ENT team would visit and have free check up and a health record would be maintained by the government by computerising them. The chief minister had praise for MIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi. “Asaduddin was offered a bribe of Rs 25 lakh for not attending meeting in Nirmal. Asaduddin will not accept even Rs 25 crore.
This is the ‘chillara’ politics by Congress leaders,” said Rao. He said that the BJP has no interest to provide reservations to STs. There is a need to increase the reservations as per the increasing population but the BJP is not willing to support. However, he said that he would take the responsibility of 12 per cent reservations to STs and Muslims. He said that the government was providing Rythu Bandhu even to tribals. He said, “You know this very well. Do not be like a person who doesn’t know anything.”
