Khammam: The Kaman Bazar was shaken when a powerful blast occurred in the early hours of Monday in a cloth store which damaged several neighbouring shops.

According to sources, a resident of Palvoncha is running the cloth store in a rented shop at Kaman Bazaar in the city. In the early hours on Monday, people heard explosions in the cloth store which created panic in the area as several other shops were damaged.

The locals first thought that the incident might have occurred due to a short circuit in the cloth store but later after observing the surroundings, they suspected that some explosives in the clothe store might have triggered the blasts. However, no casualty was reported.

Receiving the information, the Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal accompanied with ACP Venkatrao and other officials rushed to the spot and inspected shops and observed that explosions damaged the walls of neighbouring buildings, too.

He enquired the owners of neighbouring shops and eye witnesses who were present at the time of blasts.Meanwhile, the owner of the cloth store in which the blast had occurred was not available in the city.

The CP said that he ordered the officials for investigation to find out actual cause of blasts and to trace out the address of the owner of the cloth store.
