​Hyderabad: Former Director General of Israeli Defence Buky Carmeli while addressing cyber police and techies at the 4th Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) shared that some Israeli agendas for protecting a nation from cyber-attacks.

Buky Carmeli presented a detailed information on Israeli’s preparedness to build cyber security space. He said, “collaboration of innumerable start-ups, business firms and government, facilitated the growth of cyber security in Israeli. The same model can be used in different nations across the world.”

Chairman of NASSCOM, BVR Mohan Reddy said, “cyber security in India may face increased threats with the enormous increase in connectivity; cyber security shall become a crucial element in India and growing IT capitals like Hyderabad. Unlike India, governments all over the world protect their civilian domain against cyber-attacks.”

India is rapidly transitioning from data poor country into data rich country, transition is every facet of business all over the country. India's data protection bill is poorly worded while there is a grave need of data protection, Mohan Reddy added.

NIA Inspector General and spokesperson Alok Mittal spoke about the necessity of strengthening knowledge of IT professionals through the SCSC Cyber Security Conclave meeting and other awareness programmes. Roland Cloutier spoke on cyber resilience, on how cyber-attacks can be prevented, than recovered after being attacked.

Over 380 delegates representing 165 IT organisations and various departments of police including Ministry of Home Affairs were present during the occasion. Cyber Security Awards were presented to HSBC and Infosys for preparing proactive and noteworthy cyber security policies. A special track for cyber police was also held where different case studies related to cyber frauds and electronic evidence were examined. Israeli cyber perspectives were shared with the local police.
