Khammam: Ayyappa Swamy Temple’s chief priest P Narayana Swamy on Tuesday called upon all Ayyappa devotees, Hindus in general and representatives of people’s organizations to participate in a massive Save Hindu Tradition Rally against the Supreme Court judgment allowing women entry into the Sabarimala Ayyappa Swamy temple in Kerala to be taken out on Thursday to make it a grand success.
The rally will be taken out from Ayappa Swamy temple to the Collectorate at 10 am. Speaking to the media persons in a press meet held at the temple premises in Srinivas Nagar, Narayana Swamy opposed the apex court verdict.
Narayana Swamy said it is the responsibility of every Hindu to honour and protect Hindu tradition and culture which is adopted from the past several years through our forefathers.
He said that depending on the region and locality, there are different cultures and traditions and methods of offering of prayers to Hindu Gods and Goddesses in various temples situated across the country and every Hindu is following them strictly from the past several generations.
In the same way, there is a unique tradition which is being followed by Ayyappa devotees across the nation and will follow it for over 41 days only allowing male devotees restricting the females of age group between 10 to 50 years, he added.
But, with the recent judgment of the Supreme Court, many people across the country especially women folks started a movement opposing the Judgment given by Supreme Court for saving the Hindu Culture and traditions that are existing since past several years, he said.
The temple committee members K Appa Rao, Ch Radha, K Ramu, A Masthan Rao, G Vasu, S Srikanth, S Sathanna, Ram Prasad, Ravi, Srinivas, Veera Bhadram, Sathyanarayana and others were present on the occasion.
