Hyderabad: South Central Railway General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav instructed the officials to take appropriate security measures to ensure the safety of signaling, electrical and other track related assets.
He stated that no short cut methods to be adopted while maintaining the safety equipment. He conducted a review meeting on Safety, Punctuality and Freight loading etc., on Monday at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad along with Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded participated through video conference.
The General Manager held a detailed review of all the safety aspects of the zone and took note of minor issues such as yard derailments, signaling failures and provision of gate mitras at unmanned level crossings etc. He instructed all the DRMs to focus on the yards and ensure perfect condition of infrastructure. He also advised them to conduct safety seminars to all safety related staff for educating them to be alert to avoid unsafe situations. He reviewed the ongoing works with regard to elimination of Unmanned Level Crossings and instructed the officials to speed up the work for early completion.
Vinod Kumar Yadav advised officials to accord top priority to improve punctuality and instructed them to address the mechanical and signaling failures etc which are hampering the punctuality. The General Manager advised the Officials to focus on improvement of freight loading and instructed to make better action plans to meet the demands in supply of the wagons for loading Cement, Lime stone and Coal etc. He also reviewed the division wise progress of the works related to station re-development, Provision of Divyangjan toilets and instructed to expedite the works.
Additional General Manager John Thomas, Principal Chief Operations Manager N. Madhusudana Rao and other senior officials were present in the meeting.
