Rahul Gandhi’s tour success forced KCR to press panic button: Uttam
Telangana Congress Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Monday said that the public meetings to be addressed by Congress president Rahul Gandhi in Bhainsa and Kamareddy on October 20 would be a grandsuccess
Hyderabad: Telangana Congress Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Monday said that the public meetings to be addressed by Congress president Rahul Gandhi in Bhainsa and Kamareddy on October 20 would be a grand success.
Addressing meetings of party workers and leaders in Bhainsa and Kamareddy on Monday, Uttam directed the cadres to ensure participation of all sections of people in the meetings and added that the Congress president, during his visit on October 20, would not only expose the failures of TRS and BJP governments, but would also unveil the party’s plan to address the woes of different segments.
The TPCC chief reiterated that the next elections were a fight between KCR Family and People of Telangana, and the Congress would play its role in restoring democracy in the State. He said that it was the visit of Rahul Gandhi in August this year which forced Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to dissolve the Assembly and go for early elections.
“The tremendous public response to Rahul Gandhi’s tour to Hyderabad brought shivers down the spines of TRS leaders, especially KCR. For the same reason, KCR held a press conference late in the evening to target the Congress president. Later, KCR held a public meeting 'Pragati Nivedika Sabha' by spending over Rs 300 crore only to counter the impact of Rahul Gandhi’s visit. But, he failed in his attempt with not even 3 lakh people attending the meeting,” he said.
The TPCC Chief also slammed KCR for advancing the Assembly elections. By dissolving the Assembly nine months ahead of its schedule, KCR not only broke the people’s trust, but made a confession that TRS was incapable of ruling the State, he said.
Earlier, accompanied with senior leaders K Jana Reddy, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, N S Bose Raju, Srinivasan Krishnan, Sabitha Indira Reddy and others, the TPCC chief went to Bhainsa in a helicopter from Begumpet airport. Uttam informed that Rahul Gandhi would reach Shamshabad at 10.30 am and from there, he would proceed to Charminar to participate in Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavna Yatra and confer the Sadbhavna Award on former Governor K Rosaiah and address the meeting. He will then return to RGIA to board a helicopter for Bhainsa and then to Kamareddy to address the public meetings.
