Dairy farmers demand rollback

Aler( Yadadri- Bhongir): Dairy farmers on Tuesday staged protest demonstration before milk chilling center against the government decision of reducing procurement rate.

Raising slogans, a large number of milk producers of various mandals in Aler constituency sat on dharna on Hyderabad- Warangal highway against the government decision to reduce milk procurement rate by Rs 2 per liter for cow milk and Rs 2.50 per liter for buffalo milk.

They demanded the government to roll back the decision of reducing milk rate unconditionally. A scuffle took place between protesters and police during the dharna.

Telangana Parirakshana Samithi leader Chakradar Reddy while addressing the farmers, mocked the government decision on reduction of procurement rate. He said on one hand government distributes buffalos, on the other reduces the milk procurement rate. He warned the government to settle the matter within a week otherwise stir will be intensified.
